Books About Town auction success!

I'm proud to announce that my Peter Pan BookBench 'Always Try To Be A Little Kinder Than Is Necessary' sold for an incredible £8000 at the Books About Town auction last night at the Southbank Centre in London. That was the 6th highest price out of 50 benches! (If you bought it, please get in touch I'd love to know where it ends up!)

£251,000 was raised in total, with all money going to the National Literacy Trust, who are aiming to raise literacy levels in Britain's most deprived areas.

Here's a shot from the auction, which was overseen by the excellent Sotheby's auctioneer, Edward Rising.

The auction even made the national press.  Here's the story from The Telegraph, with my bench as the lead photo!  I was namechecked too!

Here's my bench and name featured on The Telegraph website!  Very proud!

The sculpture trail was a huge success, and I was incredibly proud to be a part of it alongside some esteemed authors, illustrators and artists.

Thanks and well done to Wild in Art and the National Literacy Trust for a great summer!
