Sian Storey Art Journey (8).JPG

Introducing a brand new painting, 'Journey'. Read on to find out more and buy...

Description

‘Journey’ is an original bird painting by emerging British artist Sian Storey.

A chunky canvas sized at 80 x 120cm and 7.5cm deep, Sian used acrylic and spray paint to create this beautiful and powerful painting.

The rich and dense purples and blues pop against a crisp white background.

The painting is signed by the artist Sian Storey on the front and reverse.

Feel inspired

‘Journey’ celebrates the beauty and movement of birds, an ongoing theme in Sian’s artwork.

As the title suggests ‘Journey’ hints at the phenomenal ability of birds to travel distance; the energy of its movement captured by Sian’s signature colours and brushstrokes.

How it was created

‘Journey’ was painted in Sian Storey’s studio in leafy Hampshire in Spring 2018. Using acrylics and spray paint, you'll see detailed, delicate brushwork and beautiful mists of spray paint.

Sian paints in layers, as seen in the rich acrylic paint of the feathers and powerful wings. The spray paint is used to diffuse edges and lines, creating a hazy, dreamy finish.

This painting, your walls

‘Journey’ would be a striking feature of any space thanks to its rich purple, shimmering gold and soothing turquoise palette which is set against a contrasting white background. Hang it above your sofa for the ultimate statement piece in a living room, or in a hallway to make a stunning entrance. Expect it to be a talking point in your home, and a painting you’ll keep forever.

This painting comes ready to hang - you just to put need a pair of strong nails in your wall.

Delivery information

The painting will be delivered fully tracked via courier, and securely packaged in thick bubble wrap and heavy duty cardboard.

The painting will be dispatched within 14 days maximum, however I will always aim to send it sooner. Please add a note to your order if you require the painting sooner and I’ll try my best.

I'm so pleased to announce that my Golden Peacock bench raised £7000 at a charity auction on Friday 15 September - the joint highest sale of the night.

On the night, the Sitting With Jane auction raised a staggering £95,700, with 75% of that going towards the Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

The Sitting with Jane trail was a summer-long art trail to mark 200 years since Jane Austen's death - and saw Basingstoke reclaim their most famous daughter as their own. My Golden Peacock bench was inspired by the most famous Pride and Prejudice book cover.

In case you're wondering what happened to my other bench 'Once Upon A Time in Steventon' - this was sold privately to the bench's sponsor.

To celebrate opening their 1000th UK store in Overton, Domino's asked me to design a limited edition 'Domi-note' :-)

100 of the notes were hidden in Overton, Hampshire - each one worth a free pizza. The note is in homage to Overton's history of producing bank notes, and I had creative freedom to interpret the brief in my own way.

Nationwide, Domino's celebrated the opening by giving away 10,000 free pizzas, drumming up interest in the national media, including NME and Metro
